FFI Leadership Takes to the Airwaves: Strategic Milestones and Welfare discussed on Radio Simba

KAMPALA – The Former Footballers Initiative (FFI) dominated the mid-day airwaves today as key executive members appeared on Radio Simba for an in-depth two-hour talk show hosted by renowned sports presenter and FFI National Coordinator, Mr. Walusimbi Wooto.
John Kennedy Lubogo Mutatwala (General Secretary) and Vicent Kayonga Luganda (Assistant General Secretary) used the platform to update the public on the initiative’s recent activities, strategic partnerships, and the roadmap for improving the welfare of Uganda’s football legends.
Regional Solidarity: The Kenya Tour
A significant portion of the broadcast focused on the recent FFI tour to Kenya. The executives shared highlights from the matches played against fellow former footballers from the East African region, emphasizing how these events foster unity and keep the spirit of the game alive across borders.

Strategic Government Partnerships
The leadership highlighted recent high-level engagements aimed at institutionalizing support for former players. They detailed the fruitful meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Mr. Aggrey David Kibenge, who pledged government support for organized groups like FFI.
Strengthening Pillars: The Wakiso Connection
In a major announcement regarding structural growth, the executives discussed their recent reception at the Wakiso District Headquarters by the District Sports Officer, Mr. Ssenyonga. It was revealed that Mr. Ssenyonga has been selected to head the Sports Pillar of the FFI, bringing valuable administrative experience to the initiative’s core operations.

A Call to Unite
The show concluded with a passionate call to action. Lubogo and Luganda urged all stakeholders to come together under one umbrella. They emphasized that FFI is an inclusive body open not just to former players, but also to former fans and football administrators
