The Foundation of the Uganda Football Association (UFA)

The formal governance of Ugandan football was officially established on April 4, 1924, with the founding of the Uganda Football Association (UFA). The pioneering body was launched under the presidency of His Highness Kabaka Sir Daudi Chwa II of Buganda, who served as President until 1934, with Prince Badru Kakungulu serving as Vice-President. The foundation executive council included joint secretaries and treasurers D.G. Tomblings and Serwano W. Kkulubya. Original foundation clubs included Nsambya Old Boys, Old Buddonians, Makerere College, and Mengo Central School. This landmark event organized Ugandan football and set the stage for subsequent continental and regional affiliations.
