Leo Adraa Needs Us: The Architect of '78 Faces His Toughest Match.

KAMPALA – The Former Footballers Initiative (FFI) has received an urgent appeal from the family of Uganda Cranes icon and veteran coach, Leo Adraa. The legendary figure, best known for delivering the 1976 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup to Uganda, is currently battling significant health challenges and requires immediate medical attention.

Earlier today, Mrs. Adraa reached out to the FFI administration, confirming that the football tactician is not feeling well and has been recommended for specialized liver and kidney examinations to determine the best course of treatment.

A Hero in Need
Leo Adraa’s name is etched in the annals of Ugandan history. It was his decisive goal against Zambia in the 1976 final in Zanzibar that secured regional glory for the Cranes; a moment that remains a benchmark of success in our footballing heritage. Beyond his playing days, Leo Adraa has served the nation tirelessly as a coach for top-tier clubs including Express FC, KCCA FC, and SCOUL FC, as well as serving the National Team in various capacities including interim Head Coach.

Today, the man who gave his all for the flag now needs the football fraternity to rally behind him.

FFI Mobilizing Support
True to our pillar of Welfare (Munno Mukabbi), the FFI is taking immediate steps to coordinate assistance. However, the costs associated with specialized kidney and liver screenings and subsequent care are significant.

"Leo Adraa is a national treasure," an FFI spokesperson stated. "He served this country with distinction. Now, in his hour of need, we call upon fans, former players, administrators, and well-wishers to support his family so he can access the medical care he urgently needs."
